      <image:title>About - About Brittney</image:title>
<image:caption>Leadership focus: Vice President/Board Chair at the AI Objectives Institute (AOI). Co-founded with internet security pioneer Peter Eckersley in 2021 with the hope of building AI tools that enhance human agency. Work on Talk to the City, an open-source LLM interface for improving collective decision making by analyzing detailed, qualitative data. Previously, a product architect of large-scale software systems for managing everything from budgets, to people, to scientific study management. Storytelling focus: Host of Degrees of Freedom and SciFi-preneurship with Phil Libin and longstanding radio producer for Digital Village / Digital Culture LA reporting on AI, Culture, Privacy, Biotech, Ethics, Innovation, etc. Fortunate to have interviewed Mae Jemison, Al Gore, Stewart Brand and Vernor Vinge. Some of my favorites. Other things: A jam. What I’m thinking about. A non-fiction book I still think a lot about. A short story I keep coming back to.</image:caption>
